After I texted Xorgor the address for the party, I followed Sina into a cute boutique in Durnbone to find her clothes for the party. She had been here only for four hours. I’d expected that she’d want to rest, but Sina wanted to explore the town as much as possible.

She didn’t want to stay inside and hide away from the world. She wanted to go.

While she shuffled through some clothing racks, I pulled out my buzzing phone.

Gaian (Sina’s wolf friend): Are you sure you gave me Sina’s correct number?

Gaian (Sina’s wolf friend): We texted her as soon as you messaged us about her being back in Durnbone, and she hasn’t gotten back to us yet.

Gaian (Sina’s wolf friend): Recheck the fucking number. Don’t be fucking playing with us.

Gaian (Sina’s wolf friend): Sorry, Thayer stole my phone. Can you recheck?

I stared at the flurry of delivered messages and glanced up at Sina, who disappeared into the dressing room to find an outfit that she liked. I hadn’t told her about the guys yet. They wanted to surprise her.

Once I re-sent Gaian her phone number, I stuffed the device into my back pocket and bounced on my toes. I really hoped that they were all mates. They all seemed so excited to see her again for the first time in years. Sina hadn’t changed one bit.

The dressing room door opened, and Sina walked out in a tight black shirt that hugged her curves and showed off her breasts. She spun around and looked into the mirror.

“How do you like it?” she asked with a big smile on her face. “I haven’t been able to wear something like this in years.”

“You look amazing in it!” I said, clapping my hands together.

She peered over my shoulder. “You think?”

“Yes!”

The four wolves will love it.

After giggling, she twirled in the mirror again and smiled. She was the most beautiful woman I had ever laid my eyes upon. She could wear anything and attract the gaze of the hardest catches in Durnbone.

“I’ll get them,” she said, gathering her previous clothing and walking straight to the cashier with the new clothes still on her body. She ripped off the tags, slid them across the counter to her, then pulled out bills from her pocket.

It was unusual to see someone casually rip the tags off clothing and walk out of the store in the items bought, but Sina did exactly that. And we started toward the direction of the party with her arm looped around mine.

I wondered what Sina had done all these years. Had she not bought clothes, like … ever?

Maybe where she lived, people did things differently.

Once I shook the thought away, I continued with her toward the party. I never attended parties, but thought it’d be the best for Sina to get reacquainted with everyone, especially because she had been so excited to jump right back into life here.

Plus, Xorgor was going to be here.

It was the first kinda date that I had asked him out to.
